Protein Bites are taking over my Pinterest newsfeed right now. Cookie Dough bites. Peanut Butter bites. Carrot Cake Bites. Even Key Lime Bites. So I decided to take on the challenge and formulate my own “bite” recipe. Looking at what I have on hand in my pantry, I concocted a peanut butter, date, raisin, oat, chia seed, honey protein bite affectionately called the “Bird Seed Protein Bite”.
They sort of remind me of when I was a kid, and we would make bird seed pinecones in the fall. We would collect the pinecones, smother them in peanut butter, and roll them in seeds for the birds to enjoy. It’s funny how smells or flavors can take you back in time… These bites pair well with an afternoon cup of coffee, morning pick me up post-workout, or just a fun little treat after dinner. Try them out for yourself and make these protein bites a part of your weekly diet!
