Bonefish Grill took that mentality and handcrafted a summer menu designed to create the best of both worlds, featuring both surf & turf. Introducing their Summer Duo menu with items like Cod Piccata & Lobster Stuffed Shrimp and Wood Grilled Center-Cut Sirloin & Cold Water Lobster Tail. You can tantalize your senses with a juicy medium-rare sirloin followed by a buttery lobster tail and transport yourself to a foodie’s paradise without breaking the bank in the process.
Not to mention their Classic Ceviche appetizer and festive Watermelon Martini are the perfect way to kick your evening. Their summer specials were carefully created with the senses in mind, playing host to flavors that are both tropical and refreshing.
During my most recent visit to Bonefish Grill, my friends and I ordered an array of dishes. We started the evening with cocktails, I ordered the summer specialty Watermelon Martini made with muddled watermelon, cucumber & Fris vodka infusion, and fresh sour garnished with frozen watermelon cubes. It was incredibly refreshing without being overtly sweet. After a long day of classes, it was the perfect summer drink to wind down with. Then we ordered an appetizer of their Classic Ceviche made with Chilean sea bass, scallops, and shrimp marinated in a tangy cilantro citrus vinaigrette served with seasoned tortilla chips. I was instantly transported to somewhere tropical with this appetizer. I would say though, if you do not have a taste for cilantro, this is not your dish. However, I love cilantro and citrus, probably to an unhealthy degree, so this appetizer spoke to me on a deep level. My only beef about it was that it was rather chunky and difficult to eat with a thin tortilla chip, but the flavors were phenomenal and a great way to begin your evening of wining and dining.
For our entrees, I ordered the wood-grilled Steak Sirloin & Lobster Tail from the Duo menu, while one of my friends ordered the Cod Picatta & Lobster Tail. I requested the steak to be cooked medium-rare, and it was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of pink in the middle. The sirloin was juicy, rich, smoky, and satisfying. The Cold Water Lobster Tail was served with drawn warm butter and a slice of lemon. Together, the sirloin and lobster played host to a symphony of flavors from both sea and shore. It didn’t take long before I was in a food coma just with the main dishes, but each Duo comes with two sides of your choice too (talk about a great deal). So I picked their Sweet Potato Mash and Green Beans.
My friend ordered the Cod Picatta & Lobster Tail which was also a great combination of flavors. Alaskan Cod cooked in a lemon butter sauce with capers and vine-ripened cherry tomatoes served alongside Cold Water Lobster Tail. The citrus sauce complemented the subtleties of the fresh Cod and was a wonderful, lighter alternative to the Sirloin and Lobster Tail Duo. In the summer, I never crave heavy fried fish dishes, so I loved that both of these Duos were light, luscious entrees crafted with the consumer and season in mind.
After indulging ourselves all evening long, we forgot to save room for dessert. Unfortunately we weren’t able to try their Summer Berry Bread Pudding, however I couldn’t not share this tantalizing description: house-made brioche bread pudding infused with Grand Marnier and orange zest, fresh summer berries, ice cream, whipped cream and a salted caramel sauce. I guess that means I’m gonna have to come back for second’s!
It was a wonderful evening with immaculate service, kind waitstaff, delightful dishes, and sweet friends. Thank you Bonefish Grill for a meal to remember.
