September 2021 Recap

Did it even happen? I feel I blinked and it was gone.

September is oftentimes one of my favorite months, because it ushers in a new season: FALL! Being the basic girl that I am, I love fall and everything that comes with it: pumpkin spice, autumnal candles, and all the cozy things. But this year, fall feels different. Different because I foresee a lot of change on the horizon, and I don’t yet know what it will look like. But I do know that seasons are cyclical. They’re not forever. So change, hardships, and challenges may come, but they will not last longer than a season. But I love the expectancy that comes with each change of season. We look with anticipation about what the season could hold for us and what memories will be made. I never want to lose that sense of hope when seasons change, and I pray that this fall season allows me to embrace that hope in a new way. May you too live into this new season of FALL with hope and wonder at what God can do in and through you.

ONE FEAR I CONQUERED

I asked for help. That may sound like a copout, but I’ve been struggling at work over the past few weeks/months. I “graduated” counseling and then just a month later contacted my counselor to setup an appointment. I needed to walk through my feelings and frustrations. I probably sound like a broken record talking about being a healthcare provider during a pandemic. But it’s become more and more difficult to provide the best care for my patients when burnout sets in and you feel like you’ve been vilified by your country/community. To feel a general lack of support, compassion, and respect from those who you are treating makes your work that much harder. So I went back to counseling. I felt weak for doing it, but asking for help should never been viewed as a weakness. If anything, I’ve seen how much I’ve grown in my confidence and understanding of self. I know my personal limit, and I’m learning to listen to my body’s queues for when I need a helping hand.

FITNESS UPDATE

This month I started Muscle Burns Fat Advanced. And y’all these workouts are no joke! I love how strong I feel and how much the exercises push me to see my own potential. Let it be known, I am not a Beachbody coach, nor do I plan to ever be. I love going at my own pace and not having to harass people to join my accountability group. I love just moving my body and doing it for my own health on my own time. So if you are struggling to find an exercise routine that fits your schedule and needs, I would highly recommend Beachbody. I’ve been doing it since January 2020, so almost 2 years, and have loved the versatility of the workouts. Also, you can do them from the comfort of your home. No, I do not make a commission by telling you to join. I am just telling you, because from personal experience, their workouts have been life-giving for me. See for yourself if it’s a good fit for you too!
