…and so begins the holiday season!
And little did we know that COVID would hit our household right amidst the throws of Thanksgiving. Cary got diagnosed with COVID-19 right before Turkey Day, making it a truly memorable year. Thankfully, his case was mild and didn’t require him to have to go to the hospital. Truly so grateful for the vaccine and the protection it afforded our family. But after two years of living in a pandemic, I guess it was bound to happen to one of us. It was not the way I had imagined our Thanksgiving transpiring, however God provided in the midst of it. Cary and I hadn’t planned on getting to eat a meal at all together during Thanksgiving week because of our opposite shifts. However as it turned out, we got to eat Thanksgiving dinner together 5 days in a row. That was the best gift I could have asked for! Hope you all had a safe November, and looking forward to a joy-filled December!

FITNESS UPDATE
Still loving Muscle Burns Fat Advanced by Beachbody. This month however, I prioritized rest more. It’s important to workout when you can, but I think it’s also vital to know your capacity. With sickness in the house and night shifts, I just know that sometimes what I need more than HIIT is good old-fashioned rest. Certain seasons are easier than others to exercise regularly. It’s okay if it’s not an everyday thing, but if I can’t schedule exercise, then I focus on making sure my diet is balanced and full of nutritious things vs. processed foods. Still learning to give myself grace and find ways at work to get in some extra NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis). If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out THIS blogpost.
