Stop Believing the Lies

Did you know that it takes a person approximately 21 days to make a behavior into a habit?
3 weeks is all it takes. 3 weeks of conscious effort can make a lasting impact on your overall well-being.
But what sort of impact would 90 days committed to change have?
Could you create life change in just 90 days?

Maybe your goal is to lose weight. Or maybe you want to conquer your anger. Maybe you want to draw closer to the Lord. Maybe you want to practice thankfulness. Maybe you want to stop your Diet Coke habit.

We all want to be the best version of our self. We all desire lasting change.

So just do it.

What’s holding you back from being fully you? Probably stubborn, old you.

Make the change.

Choose to take action today towards a better life. Take control of the life you’ve been blessed with, because otherwise you are just making excuses for yourself. Don’t keep lying to yourself that tomorrow you’ll study harder, parent wiser, eat better, or exercise more. TODAY is the perfect day for change. Why? Because the longer you put it off and make justifications for your actions, the more distance you place between who you are and who you want to be.

Here’s an example:

I want to be more physically toned. I desperately want defined abs. Not anything like the Rock’s massive abs, but you know something feminine and defined that proves I’m taking care of my body. I’ve been wanting to be more toned for months, but I keep making excuses for myself saying I have clinicals or my commute is too long and I’m tired by the time I get home to even want to workout. But if I don’t choose to weight train today, am I really living out my goal?

This is what some people refer to as “all talk and no action”.

Quit the lies. Quit the excuses.
Live the life you want to live TODAY.
If you are human, this challenge is for you.
If you have goals, this challenge is for you.
If you are tired of defending your bad habits and tired of making excuses for not living your best life today, this challenge is for you.

It all comes down to a basic Five to Thrive. Five goals that will guarantee life change. By taking time for yourself, treating your body like the temple that it is, and prioritizing gratefulness, you can take control of your life. Stop saying you can’t [fill in the blank], and just DO IT.

The Five Habits

1. Get Up One Hour Earlier Everyday
2. Workout for at Least 30 Minutes/Day
3. Drink Half your Weight in Ounces of Water
4. Give Up One Food Category
5. Write Down 10 Things You Are Grateful For Daily

Below is a jpeg of the Five to Thrive so you can download it or screenshot it at your leisure. It may just help you in keeping track of your goals…

By committing to these daily habits, I am committing to a better version of myself TODAY. Not tomorrow or next week, but TODAY. Stop believing the lies that you can’t or you don’t have the time, and dedicate yourself to change. Change that will last and change that will make you happier, healthier, and more thankful than you’ve ever been before.

I just finished listening to the audiobook “Girl Wash Your Face” by Rachel Hollis. Y’all. It’s absolutely inspiring. Her words of wisdom and encouragement helped get me through a really challenging season maneuvering through a multitude of change. My favorite part: the fact that she reiterates how her faith has shaped her courage, strength, and grit. She attributes a lot of her fire to persevere back to Jesus and I admire her so much for that. Go check it out pronto and hear firsthand why we need to stop believing these lies about our worth and start surrounding ourselves with truth rooted in who God has created us to be.

So no more excuses.
Join me in committing to real change in the #Last90Days of 2018!
