This was a hard and challenging month for me.
I think I’m just now beginning to see how COVID has affected every single aspect of my life. I’ve had to wrestle with the consequences of my profession and how being an “essential worker” during this season has impacted my marriage and family relations. I had to learn to be more honest about my feelings. I’ve had to grow a lot, as I’m sure we all have and are continuing to do. But I say all this to remind you that what you see on social media isn’t always the full story. I try to share and be as transparent as I can be, but sometimes you just can’t share everything you’re walking through on the interwebs. So if you’re struggling in 2020, combatting loneliness, maneuvering through family quarrels, or feeling stuck in a rut, know you are in good company. We are all learning and unlearning, give yourself some grace. Because when the time comes for you to extend that grace to those around you, you’ll know how it’s done!

ONE FEAR I CONQUERED
Doing an ER residency! After graduating PA school, I knew I wanted to pick a specialty that would challenge me. And Emergency Medicine seemed just scary enough to keep me on my toes. And this month, I finished my final stint of resident shifts! The Lord has truly been my rock throughout this past year of residency and learning the art of Emergency Medicine, but I couldn’t imagine my first year of practicing as a PA any other way. Incredibly thankful for the opportunity I’ve had heard to learn and grow.

FITNESS UPDATE
Last month, I started the “Autumn All Year Challenge” with Beachbody. So far I’ve completed 21 Day Fix Real Time and am in the process of 21 Day Fix Extreme Real Time. I love the workouts and the progression of the programs. Each workout builds on the last and pushes you to go up in your weights and get more reps in. I’m not a Beachbody coach, nor do I ever plan to be one, but I do love what the programs are doing for me personally to increase my strength and overall confidence. It’s a fun way to mixup your workouts and do a variety of exercises each week that truly push you to your limit.
Since I’m not comfortable yet to hit up a gym in light of COVID, at-home workouts are giving me life!
