“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald
October was full of lots of exciting news, a slower/welcome change of pace at the hospital, and lots of time with family.
We carved out time to see my godparents for the baptism of our goddaughter, Addie Grace, in Charleston, SC. We visited my sister, brother-in-law, and niece in Knoxville, TN, and we visited my in-laws in Louisville, KY. It’s probably the first time since COVID that I’ve seen that much family in such a short period of time. And it may have been the first time that travel actually felt normal. Such a breath of fresh air to not be in our bubble and be stepping out of our normal schedule.

PLACES I TRAVELLED
This month, we prioritized visiting family. It had been a while since we’d seen my in-laws, my sister and her fam, and my parents, so why not visit them all in the same month!
Charleston, SC: went the first weekend of the month to witness the baptism of our goddaughter, Addie Grace Boehrer. Cary and I have never been asked to be godparents before, and it meant that much more to be asked by my own godparents after they adopted this precious little girl.

Knoxville, TN: went to see my sister’s fam and a few of our old friends from seasons past. It had been a whole TWO YEARS since we’d been in Knoxville, and it was pretty bittersweet being back in in the city that brought me and Cary together. Visited a pumpkin patch and a few of our old haunts. It was a restorative weekend!

Louisville, KY: visited my in-laws and saw the house they’re in the process of building. It was fun simply catching up and sharing stories. We went to a few parks and ate a delicious dinner at Steak & Bourbon.

FITNESS UPDATE
Still loving Muscle Burns Fat Advanced by Beachbody. Their core workouts are just as challenging as their full-body workouts if that is even possible. I love the way the workouts make me feel. I only worked out 13 days out of the month, however we were traveling a good bit in October. Still working on my relationship with exercise. I don’t like to do it out of punishment or guilt, but sometimes I find myself feeling guilty if I don’t prioritize it when I’m in the middle of a long stretch at work. Learning to give myself grace and find ways at work to get in some extra NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis). If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out THIS blogpost.
